Principal responsibilities: 

? To support PODs to resolve technical blockers.

? Identify automation opportunities and implement the same to gain.

? Responsible to ensure the best design, development and testing practices are embedded in the scrum(s).

? Closely work with the product owners and architects in understanding and maturing the solution.

? Get early visibility of APIs in pipeline so that technical challenges can be identified and resolved in collaboration with API Designers.

? Engineering representative in API Design Authority working group

? Works in collaboration with API architects and core engineering team in defining API standards and best practices

? Identifying and highlighting tech debts. Help to analyze the impact on wider API estate and prioritize tech debts.

? Help reduce API foot print by defining API demise strategy (e.g. versions, single codebase multiple deployment)

? Provide thought leadership by understanding latest trends and proposing new patterns and approaches. And take it with API Architects and Core engineering to take it forward.

? Running CEC (core engineering champions) virtual team to develop new automation tools, scripts and also maintaining existing tool suite.

? Providing technical inputs and suggesting approaches in managing technical upgrades, platform changes and tech debts. This is trivial especially in managing these activities at a scale.

? Help to deliver and improve NFR – performance improvements, security

? Owning Common libraries by implementing and maintaining the same. Find out opportunities to move boiler plate code into common libraries.

? Sharing best practices, tooling and design patterns with wider API development teams across WPB. This will help to pass on benefits to wider organization.

? Defining and enforcing the quality gates

? Helping franchise teams to build better understanding of API development standards and quality gates.

? Providing governance across PODs and franchise teams to maintain consistency and standardization.

Requirements:

? University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline

? Solid and proficient skills in Java, Spring Framework, Web Service, JSON, RAML

? Knowledge or experience in Enterprise Integration Platform (EIP) and API design with implementation experience on any ESB tools (e.g. IIB , Mule, MQ, SpringBoot)

? Knowledge and experience of DevOps, Microservice, Restful API, Agile concepts. SAFe Agilist certificate is a plus. 

? Knowledge of DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Splunk, Jira/Confluence, AppD, Docker, Kubernetes

? Track record in working on the delivery of complex deployment projects and under diversified/ matrix structure

? Strong business sense with good understanding in how IT systems impact business objectives

? Strong communication, presentation & influencing skills, able to operate well across cultures and in multi-cultural, diverse work environments

? Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills 

? Excellent team player with ability to work under minimal supervision

? Good command of written and spoken English. Mandarin is also preferred

? Able to work at flexible hour for late evening meeting with colleagues in various regions, API deployment & production support? Able to work under pressure

? Willing to learn/explore various technologies especially in Integration domain? Knowledge or experience in Cloud technologies adoption such as AWS/Azure/GCP is a plus.
