Data & Information Management

The Data & Information Management Team provides a wide spectrum of services covering data management, big data discovery, management information & insights, campaign and customer contact management, digital analytics, risk management reporting, customer segmentation, customer analytics, to HSBC Retail Bank. Globally, there are 3 Data and Information Management teams with two of them in India and one in Guangzhou, China. The China team supports 15 markets in the Asia Pacific Region.


We are searching for a motivated individual to lead the Data Management team which:


- Design and implement data models and data solutions to enable new data sources to be effectively used for reporting and analysis.
- Lead Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) from internal and external systems to relevant datamarts for analytical, targeting and management information purposes.
- Update and maintain data dictionary, build data management policy and framework, ensure data updates are complete, accurate and consistent.

Requirements
- Degree holder with major in Computer Science, Engineering, Quantitative Analysis, or business-related disciplines.
- At least 6 years of working experience preferably in banking or finance or insurance industry.
- Analysis, Insight and Problem Solving: Strong problem solving skills (solution focus)- identifying issues, developing insights and asking the right questions.
- Innovative and Creative Thinking: Encourages curiosity and diversity of thoughts to generate ideas, experiments and takes calculated risks to improve the business.
- People Management and Collaboration: Leads and steers the team in the right direction; Successfully manages interaction within and across teams with professionalism and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively manages cross business and functional stakeholders to provide the deliverables needed to drive projects to completion.
- Compelling Communication: Expresses ideas, shares and presents information clearly and concisely; articulates messages, modifies approach, and builds connections/trust. Strong oral & written English.
- Project Management: Ability to drive projects to execution by developing deliverables timelines and effectively managing stakeholders.
- Change Management: Can work in a fast paced environment with incomplete information.
- Technical skills preferred:
a. Programming Skills: VBA, SQL, SAS, R, Python, C++
b. Business Intelligence tools: Qlikview / Qliksense, Cognos, Tableau
c. DBMS: Teradata, MS SQL, Oracle, DB2
d. Others: Database design and management, Celebrus, user requirements gathering
